Available in capacities ranging from 60GB to 512GB, the next-generation of the HG series of SSDs has been announced by Toshiba. The SSDs have been designed for use in notebooks, workstations, read intensive enterprise applications and server boot drives.

The HG6 drives take advantage of the company's A19nm toggle 2.0 multi level cell NAND, which delivers major advances in performance and power efficiency. The devices boast maximum sequential read speeds of 534MB/s and maximum sequential write speeds of 482MB/s. Computer boot time and start times are accelerated dramatically, providing users with an improved computing experience.

The SSDs consume less energy than previous generations and help improve the battery life of mobile devices. The drives are available in a variety of form factors, including space saving mSATA, M.2 and in standard 64mm widths with heights of 7mm and 9.5mm. Fitted with a 6Gbit/s SATA 3.1 interface, the devices also feature Adaptive Size SLC Write cache technology and optional Self Encrypting feature compliant to TCG-Opal 2.0. The entire series incorporates Toshiba’s Quadruple Swing-By Code (QSBC) for improved error correction and reliability.
