knitter-inductive has introduced SMD LAN Transformers for Gigabit Ethernet and PoE to their product portfolio. The new LAN transformers are available for the 1000BASE-T (1Gbit/s), 2.5GBASE-T (2.5Gbit/s) and 10GBASE-T (10Gbit/s) standard.

The components stand out with their compact SMD size of 4.60x3.40x2.90mm to 5.28x3.45x3.40mm depending on the transmission rate. The special mechanical size enables a fully-automated transformer production. This features several advantages like high cost efficiency, mechanical robustness, reliable function and a very high and stable quality level.

The discrete LAN Transformers offer a higher flexibility in terms of design and board layout compared to standard LAN Transformer modules which exist of a combination of the Transformer and Common Mode Choke in one housing. To complete the customer requirements for the discrete solution, we also offer the matching SMD Common Mode Choke series, our ICSCxxxxxxL(1-6)SHyT22 Series, to you.

To create an electrical isolation between the input and output winding as well as a to transmit pulse-shaped signals at very high data transfer rates between two devices, LAN Transformers are mainly used. Next to the industrial automation, computers and IT equipment, LAN transformers are also used in a lot of consumer IoT devices.

If the discrete solution does not fit to your requirements, we also support you with LAN transformers combined with a common mode choke based on toroidal cores in a LAN transformer SMD casing.

The operation temperature of the LAN transformers is -40 to +125°C.

The parts are packed in Tape&Reel for a cost efficient and fast assembling process on customer side.
