Provider of satellite and terrestrial communications services to numerous industries, Roberts Communications Network (Roberts), has selected the ASC Signal Division of Communications & Power Industries (CPI) to provide seven satellite antenna systems for its new teleport in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roberts has provided communications services to the pari-mutuel industry for more than 30 years, pioneering the creation of simulcasting for the horse racing industry and helping fuel its subsequent rapid growth.

Roberts has been diversifying into other industries that rely on satellite and terrestrial communications, and the new teleport will support the company’s continued growth.

Roberts has selected two divisions of CPI to support its newest teleport. CPI ASC Signal Division will provide Roberts with three 9.3m C-band systems, as well as four 7.6m Ku- and C-band systems, all with four-port feeds. In addition, CPI Satcom & Medical Products Division will provide the new teleport with high-quality satellite communications amplifiers.

“We selected CPI and its ASC Signal Division because of their reputation, engineering quality and heritage,” said Todd Roberts, President and Chief Executive Officer of Roberts Communications Network. “We designed our new teleport to serve our specific needs, yet to be future-proof for expansion. We know that utilising products from CPI’s ASC Signal Division and Satcom & Medical Products Division will help us accomplish this goal.”

CPI ASC Signal Division President Tony Russell added, “Roberts Communications Network has been a telecommunications innovator since 1984, and we are pleased to have been chosen to work with them on this teleport. We know that CPI’s systems will be a key backbone feature of the teleport, and will help Roberts to continue to offer a diverse range of communications services going forward.” The new teleport is set to go live on 1st November 2017.
