Kontron is expanding its portfolio of powerful industrial and embedded servers with the KISS V3 CFL Rackmount Server family. They are tailored to applications in demanding environments. Their strong resistance toward high temperatures, shock, or vibration, combined with high performance and extensive storage options make them ideal for demanding applications. The Kontron KISS V3 CFL Rackmount systems are also a good fit for continuous operation in challenging industrial environments such as SCADA/MES applications or complex computing tasks such as AI and machine learning. Additionally, the rackmount server performs effortlessly the analysis of imaging procedures in the medical sector thanks to its high graphics performance. The KISS V3 CFL Rackmount Server is currently available in the 2U and 2U short versions based on the MicroATX format as well as the 4U based on the ATX format.

The Kontron KISS V3 CFL Rackmount Servers feature an efficient, thermal concept, a maintenance-free, flexibly configurable design in standard or short versions, as well as high computing and graphics power. The systems operate quietly, which is an important criterion for use in noise sensitive areas or in close proximity to a human operator, such as control stations, medical environments, or audiovisual applications. Additionally, they are based on verified embedded components, featuring a robust design for a long-term, high-available 24/7 operation. Their Intel Xeon E-2100 or 8th Gen Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors, scalability, and optional integration of TSN functionality (Time Sensitive Networking) makes the KISS V3 servers suitable for IoT applications.

The flexible, modular design allows easy adaptation to meet customer-specific requirements. The tool-free replacement of fans, filter mats, and drives reduces maintenance efforts. Offering at least five years of guaranteed product availability and reliable lifecycle management for successor systems, the KISS V3 CFL Rackmount Servers are tailored for long-term use. They are also Microsoft Azure certified and support TPM V2.0 encryption for secure cloud connection. Optionally, the Kontron APPROTECT Security solution can be integrated. Based on an integrated Wibu-Systems security chip combined with a specifically developed software framework, it provides IP and copy/reverse engineering protection. Kontron APPROTECT Licensing also enables new business models such as "pay per use", demo versions for limited time periods, or activation/deactivation functions.

Features

The Kontron KISS 2U Short V3 CFL, KISS 2U V3 CFL, and KISS 4U V3 CFL Rackmount Server feature 8th Gen Intel Core i7/i5/i3 or Intel Xeon E-2100 series processors with two to six cores on a FCLGA1151 socket with Intel C246 chipset. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports and ten USB ports provide high data throughput and connectivity, four DIMM sockets with up to 64 GB ECC storage guarantee adequate main memory.

Depending on the design, they feature either an internal 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive, and a M.2 2280 PCIe drive, offering slots for a variety of SSD or hard disc drive bays with or without RAID, as well as a DVD drive. Up to seven PCIs slots are available for system expansion.

The Rackmount systems are CE-certified and available in a widespread portfolio, from low cost to high end.
