Powered by a 6th gen Intel Core processor (formerly code named Intel Skylake-S), the MB-64050 Mini-ITX motherboard has been unveiled by WIN Enterprises. Boasting higher inter-process communications, improved graphics performance and efficient design, the Skylake-S processor on the MB-64050 is suited for a range of embedded applications such as industrial, gaming, medical and retail POS solutions.

The 'S' model is a socketed processor that uses the LGA 1151 package, which provides OEMs with the flexibility to choose between Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors, depending on the processing power required. The S model of the Skylake processor is designed primarily for desktop and embedded device solutions. Based on the 14nm manufacturing process, the processor has the goal of delivering greater CPU and GPU performance with reduced power consumption.

I/O interfaces provided by the MB-64050 include one PCIe X16, six COM, one LPC, one SMBus, four SATA with RAID, eight USB, two GbE LAN, one HD Audio and one Mini-PCIe. When ordered in minimum order quantities, the device can be streamlined and/or further enhanced to meet more specific OEM needs. Engineering samples will be available as of 30th November.

MB-64050 provides support for both Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. Microsoft Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 are supported; as are Linux Fedora 15, Ubuntu and Red Hat.
