Maintenance-free box computer is IP65 rated

A rugged, maintenance-free box computer designed for data acquisition has been released by MEN Mikro Elektronik GmbH. The BC50R, which is IP65 rated, features USB, digital input and output, GigE, CAN and legacy serial I/Os implemented on rugged M12 connectors.

The device is powered by an energy-efficient AMD Embedded G-Series APU. The combination of the various CPU/GPU options with the available selection of external interfaces makes for a flexible system.

Inside the box computer two PCIe Mini card slots with two SIM card slots offer WLAN, GNSS or 3G/4G functionality. The necessary antenna connectors can be made available at the front panel. The BC50R is equipped with 2GB of DDR3 SDRAM and offers SD card and mSATA slots.

The device is designed for fanless operation at temperatures ranging from -40 to +70°C. Its extremely robust aluminium housing protects the internal electronics.

Conforming to protection class IP65, the BC50R is certifiable to railway standard EN 50155, EN 60945 for shipping and to the E-mark for the automotive sector (ISO 7637-2).
