A highly-reliable, low power wireless MCU, the SimpleLink Bluetooth low energy CC2540T, has been unveiled by Texas Instruments. Operating over an extended temperature range of -40 to +125°C with USB connectivity for industrial applications, the MCU is a complete solution for easier development with TI’s BLE-Stack software and sample applications.

According to TI, the CC2540T provides industry leading selectivity, delivering increased link robustness in crowded 2.4GHz environments. The extended temperature range enables lighting designs with high junction temperature, as well as any other designs required to work at conditions above 85°C. Without requiring an external front end, the 97dB link budget delivers link reliability for long-range applications.

The true single-chip Bluetooth low energy solution integrates the MCU and RF, 256KB of embedded Flash, royalty-free TI BLE-Stack protocol stack, profile software and sample applications. This delivers single-mode Bluetooth Smart sensor applications and simplified design with a one-chip, integrated and flexible solution.

Allowing users to get a demo up and running in five minutes with the SimpleLink SensorTag, development tools, software, documentation and TI E2E support enables easier and faster development.

Part of TI’s free sample programme, the SimpleLink Bluetooth low energy CC2540T wireless MCU is available now from $2.30 each in 1,000 unit quantities.
