Based on 4th Gen Intel Core i7-4700EQ quad-core processor, the Matrix MXE-5400 fanless embedded computer has been introduced by ADLINK Technology. Retaining the Matrix series' design principles for withstanding harsh environments, it is suited for outdoor intelligent transportation, digital surveillance, security and industrial automation applications.

Implementing ADLINK’s proprietary SEMA (Smart Embedded Management Agent) tool, the MXE-5400 maximises manageability and security. The SEMA tool also offers an easy-to-use library enabling the real-time monitoring of system health as well as accessing management utilities.

Featuring the most advanced 4th Gen Intel Core i series processors, ADLINK’s MXE-5400 offers increased computing power and features with leading CPU and graphics performance, while maintaining minimal power consumption. Based on Intel Media SDK and Quick Sync Technology, the ADLINK MSDK+ increases media streaming capability while reducing CPU loading. The fanless embedded computer is hardware ready for Intel vPro technologies, allowing administrators and users to manage and control the system remotely via encrypted OOB TCP/IP communication by Intel iAMT 9.0.

Operating over a temperature range from -20 to +60°C, the ADLINK MXE-5400 has a ruggedised design delivering operating shock tolerance up to 50G. Providing reliable and convenient inter-device connection, the MXE-5400 features versatile I/O support connectivity, including: support for three independent displays from one DVI-I, and two dual DisplayPort interfaces; four serial ports with surge protection; four Gigabit Ethernet ports; eight isolated digital input/outputs; six USB 3.0 ports; and one internal USB 2.0 for dongles. Data reliability is enhanced with an internal dual SATA-III interface accommodating RAID support and the dual mini PCIe interfaces supporting rich wireless communication options, such as WiFi and 3G, with one configurable to mini SATA access by jumper selection.

Kenny Chang, Director of I/O Platforms, ADLINK Technology, commented: “Meeting the booming needs for mission-critical applications, systems must accomplish assigned tasks with utmost dependability in a timely manner. Not only abundant computing power, but also reliability and ruggedness are critical in systems to satisfy the rigors of these demanding environments. With our MXE-5400 and SEMA as a cornerstone of our intelligent computing platform line, customers enjoy the maximum performance, manageability, and connectivity they have come to expect from ADLINK’s fanless embedded computers, but at significantly higher levels."
