RS-232 Transceivers from Maxim
Maxim has introduced the MAX13234E-MAX13237E family of RS-232 transceivers. Providing upgraded functionality to Maxim's legacy MAX3224E-MAX3227E RS-232 transceivers, these devices provide the industry's highest data rates (up to 3Mbps), low-voltage logic-level translation, low 1microamp supply current through the AutoShutdown Plus feature, and enhanced ESD protection.
TI introduces high-temperature transceivers for oil exploration equipment
Two new ceramic-packaged transceivers from Texas Instruments enable data communication in high-temperature applications. The devices feature no thermal shutdown, meeting the demanding requirements of oil exploration applications, such as downhole drilling. The SN65HVD11SJD 3.3-V single, half-duplex RS-485 transceiver and the SN65HVD233SJD 3.3-V CAN transceiver are the first two parts for an extended temperature range of -55C to 210C to be release...
25kHz Narrowband Transceiver from Radiometrix
The TR3M has been developed by the team of wireless communications experts at Radiometrix. It is high-end multi-channel narrowband transceiver that operates in the European 868MHz band (though custom variants for any 3MHz frequency block from 860-870MHz are available on request). It supports data rates of up to 5kbits/s, and has a usable range of over 500m. Employing a 1200baud dumb modem it allows transmission across 80 different channels.
TI introduces common mode, 70-V, fault-protected RS-485 transceiver family
Texas Instruments has introduced a family of +/- 70V, fault protected RS-485 transceivers that achieve overvoltage protection with no external termination needed. These low-power devices serve as drop-in upgrades to existing RS-485 designs without costly board redesigns. The new half- and full-duplex transceivers simplify design in industrial automation, motor control and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
Analog Devices Unveils 3G Transceiver for Femtocell Base Stations
Analog Devices has introduced the ADF4602-1 transceiver for 3G femtocell base stations that support the UMTS (universal mobile telecommunications system) wireless interface standard for home and office wireless infrastructure equipment. The highly integrated direct conversion transceiver incorporates frequency synthesizers, filters and power management circuitry and can be coupled with ADI’s AD9863 mixed-signal front-end and ADL532x and ADL554x...
Peregrine Semiconductor Claims Breakthrough in Mobile Antenna Tuning
Peregrine Semiconductor has claimed a breakthrough in the solution to mobile antenna tuning. The Company’s new DuNE Technology, a patent-pending design methodology made possible by Peregrine’s UltraCMOS process and HaRP design innovation, has enabled a single-die tunable capacitor circuit – referred to as a Digitally Tunable Capacitor (DTC) – which meets the high-performance demands for antenna tuning in leading-edge cellu...
Peregrine's High-Power RF Switch Line
Peregrine Semiconductor has announced its new line of high-power RF switches for the mobile radio market. Featuring a 50 Watt 1dB compression point, the PE42510A single-pole double-throw (SPDT) and PE42650A single-pole triple-throw (SP3T) UltraCMOS RFICs deliver unprecedented linearity with ultra low insertion loss at high power.
TI enables RFID tag reliability
Texas Instruments and 3M Library Systems today celebrated a 10-year relationship that has created of one of the major markets for radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. To date, millions of TI Tag-it HF-I chips help libraries track periodicals in 3M Library Systems worldwide. Developed with a memory that reliably retains its data for an estimated 60 years at 131 degrees Fahrenheit (55 degrees Celsius), TI supplies its durable, high-qua...
Wideband Upstream Amplifier Completes Microtune’s DOCSIS 3.0 RF Solution Offering
Microtune has introduced the MT1570 wideband upstream amplifier, the latest addition to the Company’s portfolio of radio frequency (RF) silicon products supporting the cable industry’s new DOCSIS 3.0 specification. A companion product to Microtune’s DOCSIS wideband and narrowband tuners, the new MT1570 upstream amplifier enables an impressive 120-Mbps upstream pipeline, significantly increasing performance, data rate and reliability for b...
TI’s single-chip MCU and low power RF solution
Texas Instruments has announced the new CC430 technology platform – demonstrated for the first time at electronica – offering the industry’s lowest power, single-chip radio-frequency (RF) solution for microcontroller- (MCU) based applications. By reducing system complexity, shrinking package and printed circuit board (PCB) size by up to 50 percent and making RF design easy, the CC430 platform helps advance applications including RF network...
