1. D-Sub demand drives PEI-Genesis expansion

PEI-Genesis has extended its partnership with global connector manufacturer Positronic across Europe and Africa. The expansion comes after considerable demand from customers in these regions. As of June 25th, 2021, enginee­rs in Africa and Europe can benefit from PEI-Genesis’s value-add service of Positronic connectors.

This service involves custom configuring the vast range of standard Positronic D-Subminiature connectors from component stock, meaning greater choice with shorter lead times.

2. M12-mini bulkhead connectors with cable gland

The new M12-Mini bulkhead cable connectors with crimp connection technology from Provertha are a compact M12 solution and come with only 24.5mm length behind cabinet or housing wall (complete length 41 mm) for space-saving bulkhead solutions in control cabinets or housings.

At the same time, these versions are suitable for particularly high requirements in rail technology and industrial and factory automation such as presses for forming technology or stamping technology. They provide certified shock and vibration protection according to DIN EN 61373, Cat. 2 and Cat 1 class B, and feature the 500h corrosion protection, proven by successfully passing the salt spray test according to EN 60512-11-6.

3. Waterproof sealed SMA interconnect protects systems

Amphenol RF is proud to announce the expansion of our IP-rated waterproof sealed solutions with additional IP67 SMA connector options. These lightweight 50ohm connectors are engineered for flexible and semi-rigid cable types and designed to withstand harsh environments.

Weatherproof sealed RF interconnects are suited for applications that may experience dust or water ingress such as industrial equipment, base stations or outdoor kiosks.

4. High density FPC-to-board/board-to-board connectors

Hirose has designed an innovative FPC-to-board/board-to-board connector series that offers high density mounting and space-savings. Supporting USB4 Gen2 (10Gbps) transmission for a wide range of portable electronic and consumer devices, the DF40 Series combines a 0.4mm pitch with a mounting depth of only 3.68mm.

The robust DF40 Series connector features a superior stamped contact design with a clear tactile click that confirms secure mating. The stamped contacts enable a longer effective mating length of 0.45mm that provides shock and vibration resistance common to portable device applications. Further protecting signal contacts, the DF40 Series has curved contacts to prevent buckling during mating.

5. Hypergrip connectors expanded for medical applications

Smiths Interconnect has announced the extension of its Hypergrip connector series for the medical market with the addition of the new Hypergrip Flex connectors. Hypergrip is a well-known, patented and proven series of high reliability circular connectors specifically designed for the medical industry.

Smiths Interconnect has now enlarged the series with the Hypergrip Flex, ideal for most of the medical market applications including devices for patient monitoring, electrosurgical and endoscopic tools, catheters, home healthcare and portable therapeutic applications.
