The Minitek Pwr series from Amphenol is in stock at RS Components. The series offers connectors that are compact, robust and versatile, along with high levels of flexibility for power and signal connectivity.

Designed to meet a wide selection of application requirements across many industries and market sectors, the Minitek Pwr connectors offer a highly flexible solution that includes wire-to-board and wire-to-wire configurations and has been designed especially for demanding power applications.

The series is available in 3.00, 4.20 and 5.70mm options, and features fully-polarised scoop-proof housings to protect terminals from damage, and a low insertion force, which makes them easy to use.

The 3.0mm-pitch devices have power contacts that can handle currents of up to 5A per contact and are available in dual-row configurations with 2 to 24 circuits and single-row configurations with two to 12 circuits.

The 4.2mm-pitch connectors offer a current rating up to 9A per contact and are available in two to 24 circuits in dual-row and three to five circuits in single-row configurations.

The 5.7mm-pitch connectors employ a special alloy material to enable high-current-rating wire-to-board applications, handling up to 23A per contact; these are available in a dual-row configuration with two to 24 circuits.

Crimp, snap-in header and receptacle contacts can terminate wires from 30 to 20 AWG for the 3.0mm-pitch connectors; from 38 to 16 AWG for the 4.2mm connectors; and from 16 to 12AWG for the 5.7mm units.

Header and receptacle housings allow wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations for the Pwr 3.0 and 4.2 series; and the 5.7mm devices are suitable for wire-to-board applications. The Pwr 4.2 devices also offer a patented right-angled receptacle for 1U or 2U racks.

The Pwr 3.0 and 4.2 ranges provide blind mating interface (BMI) options for vertical through-hole type connections, which means secure connection can be ensured even if the engineer has a restricted view of the socket.

The high-current handling Pwr 5.7 range also offers a wide operating temperature, from –40 up to +105°C, making it suitable for applications including telecommunications equipment, HVAC systems, home appliances or patient monitors.

The Minitek Pwr series is shipping now from RS in the EMEA region.
