A new hybrid cable for SEW and Siemens motors has been developed by igus, the CF280.UL.H, which is designed for use for use in energy chains. Engineers working in intralogistics, machine tool construction or the automotive industry have the added benefit of purchasing the chainflex cable with a 36-month guarantee, either bought by the metre or supplied as a ready-to-connect readycable.

The CF280.UL.H hybrid cable is suitable for applications down to a bend radius of 10x diameter in temperatures ranging from -25ºC up to +80ºC. Depending on the manufacturer's specification, the cable has a black or orange oil-resistant PUR outer jacket, is coolant-resistant and flame-retardant. A braided shield with high coverage ensures good EMC protection over a long service life.

igus regularly carries out continuous in-house tests on all its cable ranges. In a series of tests at 7.5x diameter, the CF280.UL.H hybrid cable lasted over 8 million cycles without damage. Another advantage of the new cable series is that it has UL approval for use in North America, as well as EAC and CTP certification for the Russian market.

Due to customer demand, igus offers all its cables as readycable with the appropriate connectors pre-assembled. With more than 4,200 drive cables available made in line with to 24 manufacturers’ standards, engineers will always find the most cost-effective cable for their application. All cables are tested after harnessing and receive an igus seal of approval. By testing all chainflex cables under real conditions, igus is in the unique position to offer a 36-month guarantee.
