GTK has expanded its range of fine pitch wire to board connectors with new options for discrete wire applications. The new 1.2mm pitch ultra low profile wire to board connector has a mated height of 1.55mm, making it suitable for applications where space is limited; it is also polarised to prevent mismating.

The PCB header is surface mount, making it suitable for pick and place machines.

The 1.25mm pitch wire to board range has been expanded with new latched and low profile versions. The latched version provides a secure connection, which makes it suitable for high vibration applications, while the low profile version is only 2.1mm in height when mated and is widely used for backlights on LED displays.

Both the latched and low profile headers come as SMT and are supplied on tape and reel for pick and place machines.

The diversity of pitch and pin counts means that GTK can offer wire to board connectors for a wide range of different applications. Fine pitch connectors are typically used in handheld equipment such as bar scanners, data loggers and POS terminals.

Caroline Ebbage, Business Manager for connectors, at GTK said: “As finished product designs are reducing in size for both consumer and industrial electronic products, the PCB real estate becomes more limited and the need for smaller pitch connectors increases. We have an extensive range of wire to board connectors and can assist customers with connector selection and customisation if needed. We can also supply the mating discrete wire cables in whatever volumes are required.”
