PEI-Genesis, the franchised assembler and distributor of electronic connectors, has expanded its portfolio of Amphenol products to include the CTV series of composite circular connectors, which feature a lightweight design that makes them particularly suitable for use in aerospace applications. Available from PEI-Genesis with an unrivalled 48-hour assembly service, the CTV series can be supplied as either proprietary parts or as fully qualified MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors with a choice of olive drab or electroless nickel plating.
The composite material used for the CTV shells enables the connectors to achieve weight savings of 17-40% compared with standard aluminium parts and up to 70% compared with stainless steel versions. In addition, the CTV connectors offer high corrosion resistance, providing protection from salt spray exposure for 2000hours.
Rapid coupling is ensured by a triple-start thread and a single-turn coupling nut, while the use of recessed pins, a rigid dielectric insert and a 100% scoop-proof design minimises potential contact damage. The connectors have a minimum durability of 1500 couplings.
The CTV series connectors are available in an enormous range of shell styles, shell sizes, insert arrangements and contact types, and since PEI-Genesis holds its stock at piece-part level, it is able to assemble any variant that may be required.
