A new series of highly compact connectors introduced by Honda conforms to the SFP MSA standard, which relates to the interface with downsized Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers now in widespread use.
/> Compatible with the one-channel CSFP transceiver, the AKX-A Series is a 10-contact, surface-mount connector having a 0.8mm pitch. It embodies roll-surface contacts which minimise damage to PCB contact surfaces, and therefore provides an extremely high level of long-term reliability.

By adopting the proven operational characteristics of the Company’s existing AKX-Series connector for SFP, the –A derivative ensures that excellent high-speed transmission is maintained.

The Compact SFP Multi Source Agreement has been concluded between NEC, Fujikura and eGtran, and relates to the size of the new CSFP transceiver which has been reduced by half.
