New from Honda Connectors is a coaxial connector series specifically created to provide an economical wire-to-board connection in low-voltage digital signal (LVDS) applications. The LVC Series Micro Coaxial Connector is designed for use with super-thin coaxial cables, and accordingly supports high-speed data transmission. It is available in nine versions having 20, 22, 30 or 40, contact arrangements and an inter-contact pitch of 0.5mm. The contact arrangement is based on differential pairing, and each has a current rating of 0.3A at 50Vac.
An important feature of the Series is its extremely small footprint and low profile, making it ideally suited for equipment in which space is at a premium, yet where the maintenance of signal integrity is a vital factor. Custom cable assemblies are available, as are PCB screw-down facilities where high vibration is inherent. Electrical characteristics of the Series include an insulation resistance in excess of 100M at 250Vdc, and a dielectric withstanding voltage of 150Vac (RMS) for up to 60sec.

Typical applications for the LVC Series include PCB-to-LCD interconnection; high-speed printer heads; medical instrumentation; surveillance cameras; and and-held communications devices.
