Jamicon DC fans from Aerco are now available with a new bearing system that is far less expensive than ball bearings, provides longer life than sleeve bearings and is quieter than ball and sleeve combinations.

Known as the HTLS (High operating Temperature and Long life Sleeve) bearing system this new method that can be specified for most Jamicon AC and DC fans, consists of a sealed sleeve bearing that retains lubricant by using metal foils that serve as both an identifying label and a guard to redirect and recycle the lubricant. It was developed in response to the continuing requirement for fan manufacturers to provide a wider operating temperature range and longer life.

With operating temperatures up to 90ºC and lifetimes of 50,000 hours at 25ºC, the Jamicon HTLS system offers a highly effective alternative over conventional sleeve and ball bearing systems. When used in a 60 x 60 x 25mm fan the new bearing is approximately 66% of the cost of a typical two-ball bearing construction and only 50% more expensive than conventional sleeve bearings. It can therefore be used as a cost effective replacement for a ball bearing system to bring down manufacturing costs and provide an economic alternative for a sleeve bearing construction when a longer lifetime is required.

All Jamicon fans using this new bearing system are RoHS compliant and most carry UL, CSA and TUV approval.
