The latest 3.5-in. subcompact board from AAEON is built to power any embedded application from AI edge computing to transportation and industrial controllers.

It is now being offered by distributor RDS.

Powered by 8th Generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 and Celeron processors and with up to 64GB DDR4 SODIMM RAM, the GENE-WHU6, although small in size, can deliver even greater computing performance than previous generations.

This sub-compact board offers full-sized functionality and provides a range of I/O features including 4 X USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, 2x GbE ports and up to 2 x COM ports supporting RS-232/422/485.

It also offers HDMI2.0, VGA and LVDS display ports.

The GENE-WHU6 features full-sized mPCIe, M.2 2280 B-Key and M.2 2230 E-Key slots which ensure greater expansion and functionality capabilities.

Powering of almost any AI and edge computing is possible, whether utilising the IntelCore processors alone, or adding AI accelerator modules such as AAEON’s Kneron KL520 NPU modules or the AI Core X modules powered by Intel Movidus Myriad X.

The GENE-WHU6 is not only designed to power embedded applications such as Smart Manufacturing and Intelligent Safety and Security but also copes with tough conditions, featuring a wide operating temperature range of 0°C - 60°C and wide temperature range of  9 - 36V.

This is a compact solution with greater flexibility and functional than any of its predecessors.
