Rutronik is now stocking Fujitsu’s D3231-S, marking the start of a new family of industrial mainboards. The µATX with its Intel Q87 Express chipset supports the latest Intel Core processors i7/i5/i3 with LGA1150 up to 95W and dual-channel DDR3 1600/1333 SDRAM memory up to 32GB.

The D3231-S is designed for 24/7 continuous operation in an extended temperature range of 0° up to 60°C. Long-lived components and rugged tin coating of the circuit board make the D3231-S particularly robust and resistant. Its EMI compatibility and burst resistance live up to industrial standards. Thanks to this, the board ensures fail-safe operation of critical applications in the medical field as well as in harsh industrial manufacturing environments, e.g. in machine tools or robot control systems.

The long product lifecycle of five years or even more if required qualifies the mainboard for use in the capital goods sector, for instance in automation technology. Intel® HD graphics with DirectX 11.1 can be supported depending on the processor, which makes the board particularly suitable for demanding applications in industrial image processing or medical imaging technology.

All boards in the new family come with standardised drivers, what gives integrators a high degree of flexibility. The basic layout of the ATX and µATX boards in the new family is largely identical. Connectors such as RAM, SATA, internal USB, etc. are located in exactly the same places throughout, which ensures interchangeability within the family. Furthermore, the design offers the highest possible degree of consistency with the layout of the preceding D307x-S platform. This makes it easy to change the platform while keeping the chassis.
