PCI universal card suits PC-based industrial automation
A new 2-port EtherCAT PCI Universal card, the PCI-1203 from Advantech is available at Rutronik. It is a ready-to-use EtherCAT development platform for all PC-based industrial automation. The EtherCAT protocol stack is executed autonomously on the PCI card. The PCI-1203 comes with a 650MHz dual-core ARM processor.
High-end mini-ITX motherboard with 6th gen processor
The first mini-ITX motherboard based on 14nm 6th gen Intel Core i7/i5/i3 and Pentium processor in the LGA1151 socket with Intel H110 chipset (formally codename: Skylake) 'MANO500' has been launched by Axiomtek.
Wireless BeagleBone replaces Ethernet connection
The BeagleBone Green Wireless, a Linux-based development board from BeagleBoard.org and Seeed Studio is now available from distributor Mouser Electronics. The BeagleBone Green Wireless is the first board in the BeagleBone community to feature a wireless connection, boasting both 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1 low energy connectivity in place of the BeagleBone Green’s Ethernet connection.
Development platform targets IoT applications
A new NXP low-cost development platform has been added to the Farnell element14 portfolio of products for the Internet of Things (IoT). The FRDM-KW40Z is enabled by the Kinetis W series KW40Z/30Z/20Z (KW40Z) family and is ideal for applications in the IoT space, including home automation, building automation and healthcare.
PSoC Kit opens way to sensor-based IoT applications
The CY8CKIT-048 PSoC Analogue Coprocessor Pioneer Kit from Cypress Semiconductor is now in stock at Mouser Electronics. The programmable system-on-chip (PSoC) Analogue Coprocessor offloads sensor processing from the host and reduces overall system power consumption, allowing engineers to evaluate and develop Internet of Things (IoT) applications that require multiple sensors.
Long range WAN development kits aid IoT design
A new range of LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) development kits from Semtech have been added to RS Components portfolio of tools that support engineers designing Internet of Things (IoT) applications. LoRaWAN wireless networking delivers a longer range than most common low power wireless technologies, in addition to its greater resilience to interference.
Reference design accelerates HMI device evaluation
The MAXREFDES82 smart force sensor reference design from Maxim Integrated is now available at Mouser Electronics. The reference design features a next-generation industrial, smart force sensor that helps designers rapidly evaluate and deploy new human-machine interface (HMI) devices.
Sundance adds Xilinx’s Kintex UltraScale FPGA
Sundance Multiprocessor Technology Ltd., an established supplier and manufacturer of embedded modules, has announced that it has integrated Xilinx’s smallest Kintex UltraScale FPGA with its EMC2-family of embedded boards for the “OneBank” PC/104-compatible format.
Demo boards aid power management, data conversion
A full line of demo boards from Linear Technology providing a complete solution for evaluating system performance has been released by distributor Farnell element14. The range includes over 1,000 development kits which offer new solutions for power management, data conversion, battery management, signal conditioning and RF and Wireless.
Rugged PC/104 chassis withstands tough environments
MicroMax announced that two versions of the M-Max V75 ultra-compact machined aluminum chassis, which are compatible with the VITA 75 standard, are now available as standalone products. Used in current MicroMax products, these chassis have proven capability, and due to customer demand are now being made available separately to help system designers.
