NEC brings AI to submarine cable networks
NEC Corporation has announced successful transmission tests that took place over a commercial subsea cable measuring more than 10,000 kilometers using AI and probabilistic shaping at a modulation of 64QAM. NEC, in a joint research publication with Google, has demonstrated for the first time that the FASTER open subsea cable can be upgraded to a spectral efficiency of 6 bits per second per hertz (b/s/Hz) in an 11,000km segment.

The cameras are a driving assistant and include features such as night vision, auto power on to record whole journeys, 3 Axis G-Sensors to instantly store footage when a sudden change in movement is detected and high definition quality video capture.

Automotive development centre to create 100 new jobs
A new development centre in Dresden is being set up by Infineon. The company is planning to create around 100 additional new jobs in the first phase. The new development centre is expected to employ a total of around 250 people in the medium term.
