Current monitor enables true short circuit current monitoring
With its wide common mode sense range of 0V to within 2V of the supply voltage applied, the ZXCT1051 current monitor from Zetex Semiconductors enables true short circuit current monitoring.
Miniature bipolar package increases power supply efficiency
Combining complementary NPN and PNP transistors in the SOT236 package, the ZXTC2045E6 from Zetex Semiconductors produces the drive requirement needed to switch high power MOSFETs and IGBTs in power supply designs.
Switch boosts performance of wireless and video infrastructure
The Tsi578™ Serial RapidIO switch from Tundra Semiconductor increases the data throughput of next- generation communication infrastructure platforms, including ATCA® and MicroATCA™ applications. Complying with V1.3, the most recent version, of the Serial RapidIO Interconnect Specification, the switch is said ti set new standards in scalability and power economy.
Reference design for HSDPA/HSUPA home basestation
picoChip has announced a reference design for an ultra-low cost 3G/HSDPA basestation for use in a home or small office as an alternative to WiFi and UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access). The PC8208 modem reference design for a 3G access point or “femtocell” basestation supports HSDPA with a software upgrade to HSUPA.
Small Form Factor MCU makes the most of a 5 x 5 mm package
Silicon Laboratories microcontrollers has introduced a new MCU that integrates up to 32 kB Flash memory and high-performance analog peripherals, including a SmaRTClock with failsafe recovery features, into a compact 5 x 5 mm package. Its small size makes it ideal for portable equipment, instrumentation and measurement devices, consumer medical products and industrial meters.
Voltage regulator powers next-generation graphics processing units
Intersil's latest single-phase buck voltage regulator is designed to power next-generation graphics processing units (GPUs) or graphics cores used on Intel Santa Rosa platforms. The device reduces power consumption and enhances the performance of the GPU by dynamically changing output voltage and operation modes corresponding to the advanced GPU control protocol.
Ethernet connectors with integrated magnetics offer improved performance at a lower cost
DT Electronics announces an expanded range of 10 Base-T, 100 Base-T and Gigabit Ethernet connectors. New options for each type include integral USB connectors, power-over-Ethernet connections and built-in LEDs for status indication.
Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics of Serial Devices
LAVA Computer's latest addition supports diagnostics of serial devices such as PLCs, ECRs (Electronic Cash Registers), and other RS-232 equipment. Providing a bi-directional 'pass-through' data route between two serial devices, the LAVA DataTap-IP taps into serial data streams to port this data over IP, and additionally to a remote server, client, or COM port.
175W AC/DC switcher delivers any required voltage on each of four outputs
XP Power has introduced an AC/DC switching power supply that enables users to specify any voltage level up to the maximum rating of each output while still maintaining full agency approvals. Other power supplies only permit pre-defined output voltages in order to maintain the approvals status.
RFI filter suits high frequency applications
Tyco has recently introduced the compact EJT filter series which attenuates noise up to 1GHz and is based around an IEC 320/C14 input connector providing a maximum rating of 20A (UL /CSA) and 16A (VDE).
