Vishay’s new 4 pin low-current mini optocouplers with phototransistor output protecting equipment users from electrical shocks and protecting the microprocessors within these systems from being damaged by voltage spikes can now be sourced through TTI.

VOS618A and VOS617A series optocouplers feature low DC input currents of 1mA (VOS618A) and 5mA (VOS617A) and are offered in DIP-4, LSOP-4, SOP-4 and SSOP-4 packages. The compact SSOP-4 mini-flat package saves more than 60% board space compared to a DIP-4 package and is ideal for space constrained applications. SOP-4, SSOP-4 and LSOP-4 products have a package height of only 2mm.

The mini optocouplers benefit from low power dissipation and extensive CTR (current transfer ratio) ranges from 40% to 600%, giving design engineers increased flexibility. Certified to UL, CSA, VDE, Fimko, and CQC safety standards, the devices are fully RoHS-compliant, lead (Pb)-free, and an eco-friendly “green” compound.

The components are designed for isolated feedback loops, I/O isolation, and isolation in switch-mode power supplies, AC adapters, motor drives, solar invertors, networking switches, telecom line cards, and home appliances.
