SynQor Military COTS DC/DC power converters

Luso Electronics announces availability of SynQor’s Military COTS Demi Brick Series of DC/DC converters. The products meet the smaller size and weight restrictions of today's military market and offer greater flexibility and choice to design engineers. The Demi Brick is an isolated and fully regulated converter in a 39.4 x 38.6 x 12.7mm (1.55 x 1.52 x 0.50”) size package weighing less than 56g and offers up to 50W of output power while achieving 95% efficiency at full load.

Within the family of Demi Brick converters, SynQor’s MCOTS-28 offers dual output capabilities. It is available in single voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 28V and dual output of +/-5V, +/-12V and +/-15V. Each output voltage has a trim range of +10% to -10%. It has a 28V nominal input voltage (16V-40V continuous range with a 50V transient).

All of SynQor’s mil-COTS Demi Brick converters are designed to comply with a wide range of military standards including MIL-HDBK-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810.

Presented in a fully encased and ruggedised package, each converter can operate with baseplate temperatures from -55°C to +100°C and are perfect for the harsh environments encountered in military and aerospace applications that also demand a low profile solution with extended temperature operation in a small space.

Operating at a fixed frequency and following conservative component derating guidelines, the mil-spec Demi Brick converters feature SynQor’s field proven high-efficiency synchronous rectification technology.

The converters have a fixed switching frequency that provides for predictable EMI performance. Additional features include on/off control referenced to the input return, input under-voltage lockout, output current limit and short circuit protection, active back bias limit, output over-voltage protection and clock synchronisation.
