A new SuperCapacitor Product Comparison Matrix is now available from AVX Corporation for download. SuperCapacitors or Electric Double-Layer Capacitors have rapidly become recognised, not only as a suitable compromise between ‘electronic’ or ‘dielectric’ capacitors such as ceramic, tantalum, film and aluminum electrolytic, and batteries, but also as a valuable technology for providing a combination of characteristics, particularly very high pulse power and capacitance densities.
AVX’s new SCC and SCM Series of cylindrical and module-type SuperCapacitors offer excellent pulse power handling characteristics based on the combination of very high capacitance and very low ESR.
Used by themselves or in conjunction with primary or secondary batteries, they provide extended back up time, longer battery life, and provide instantaneous power pulses as needed.
