SL Power Electronics has announced a 12W external power supply family that meets both the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Level IV criteria and the new Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA) requirements. The new PW149RB series is compact, measuring 3.35 x 1.81 x 1.30 in (85 x 46 x 33mm). It is available in desktop styles with a single output of 10 to 12W in eight different voltage models.

“The PW149RB series is a robust design that is well-suited for many applications requiring high reliability in a compact package,” said Nigel Davies, European Managing Director, SL Power Electronics. “This family also meets both Energy Star Level IV and EISA regulations that mandate higher efficiency levels on single output Class A externals 250W and under, so OEMs can be confident they are using high performance power supplies that meet all current U.S. energy conservation standards.”

The CE-compliant PW149RB family meets UL/cUL60950-1 and TUV:EN60950-1 and is Class B EMI/RFI compliant. The series features a 100-240 VAC universal input and an impact resistant polycarbonate enclosure. It is also available in wall mount configurations for North America, Japan, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Available in eight voltage models ranging from 5 to 48V, all PW149RB models can be modified to meet unique power or connectivity requirements. SL Power Electronics also can design a completely custom solution to meet specific OEM requirements and private-label marking needs. The new standard series is priced at approximately $7.50 in OEM quantities.
