In this video, Corey Deyalsingh, Director Power Semiconductor, Electronics at Littelfuse explains the concept of ‘The Total Product Ownership Experience’.

Total product ownership is Littelfuse's ability to deliver value to the customer. Not just a product but real value. It means that the company takes ownership of everything from the design of the product, the innovation process, continuity of supply and delivering to customers, quality, reliability, everything. Everything from beginning to end.

For Littelfuse every conversation is about innovation. For example, in the world of silicon carbide, the company is not just in the business of replacing silicon IGBTs or other technology. Really what it requires is re-engineering at the systems level in order for the customer to leverage the benefits of higher efficiency, reduced cost, increased power density, requires a significant effort up front. And what Littelfuse is doing with its customers is deploying hard core applications resources, engaging with their engineers to deliver the maximum value.

The trend in the industry is always towards improved efficiency, and really power semiconductor is the engine for delivering electricity to consumers and to industry. But every step is lossy along the way. In fact, in some applications, up to 90% of the usable energy is lost in the conversions. And this is a situation where Littelfuse can apply product and applications expertise alongside customer engineers to deliver better solutions.

So for Littelfuse, it's not just about delivering high performance, high reliability solutions, it's also about delivering affordable solutions to the customer. For example, in the world of silicon carbide, the cost of the products is really the barrier preventing that innovation from getting into the market. So really the company is looking to make silicon carbide more affordable to more customers that can drive more innovation into the marketplace.

Littelfuse is a global company, but it's not just global, it's also agile. A good example of that is Littelfuse's willingness to engage with smaller companies and help solve their design problems with small tweaks or even big tweaks to Littelfuse's products. Helping those small customers now, the company really sees that as a benefit down the road in terms of long term thinking. Really that helps them get more out of their design process. It also helps Littelfuse define its next-gen products and potentially helps the company work with innovators who could become the next industry leader.
