Integrating two fully independent diodes in a compact, fully insulated package, the AK2S200-170 Schottky rectifier has been released by America Semiconductor. According to the company, a fast, soft recovery and reliable, rugged characteristics are enabled by the diode's structure and lifetime control.

The 200A (100A per diode), single-phase rectifier, which is avalanche energy rated, features a low forward voltage of 0.63V and repetitive peak reverse voltage of 170V. With a high maximum operation and storage junction temperature of +150°C, the rectifier features a low leakage current and high blocking voltage.

The AK2S200-170 Schottky rectifier is suitable for a range of industrial applications such as the output rectification stage of welding machines, SMPS, freewheeling diodes, and DC/DC converters. Both over dissipation in the switching elements (and snubbers) and EMI/RFI are reduced by the rectifier's low recovery current and stored charge.

Offered in a standard SOT-227 package, the REACH approved and RoHS-compliant rectifier is plug-in compatible with other SOT-227 packages and can be directly mounted to heatsink.
