Industrial and programmable power supply specialist, Safety Power Group, has introduced a new range of 3300W 19in DC power supplies that offer excellent dynamic response to load changes and are designed for long life at full power.
The new SM3300 series is available in four models: SM18-220 offers 0 to 18V from 0 to 220A, SM66-AR-110 offers autoranging outputs from 0 to 33V at 0 to 110A or 0 to 66V over 0 to 55A, the SM330-AR-22 offers autoranging outputs from 0 to 165V at 0 to 22A or 0 to 330V over 0 to 11A while the SM660-AR-11 delivers autoranging outputs of 0 to 330V over 0 to 11A or 0 to 660V at 0 to 5.5A.

Features include protection against all overload and short circuit conditions, EMC performance that surpasses CE requirements – low emission and high immunity – and very low output ripple and spikes from 1.6mVrms/8mVpk.

With a large user display and menu driven operation, the new 3300 series DC power supplies can operate from single or three phase supplies (180 to 450V AC, 48 to 62Hz) and feature a standard Ethernet interface (LXI, class C), USB input for exchange of settings and waveforms, plug and play optional interfaces, integrated sequencer for stand-alone automation or to use as arbitrary waveform generator and durable digital encoders for voltage and current adjustment. Higher secondary isolation allows series operation up to 1200V.

Available options include high speed programming and lower output capacitance, two-quadrant operation to maintain output voltage regardless of whether output power is positive or negative, and various field installable interfaces to enable software control – PROFIBUS, CANBUS, RS232, IEEE488, isolated analogue and master/slave.

Typical applications include solar inverter testing, PV simulation, ATE in production lines, automotive battery simulation, lasers, accurate current sources, car test systems, plasma chambers, controlled battery charging and discharging, driving PWM controlled motors and aerospace/military equipment.

Specifications include active power factor correction (PFC) of 0.99 at 100% load, high efficiency up to 90% at full load, regulation from 5mV (0 to 100% load step), recovery time 100μs (50 to 100% load step), programming speed from 7ms (10 to 90%) as standard with 0.3ms optional, output voltage and current stability from 4.10-5 to 10.10-5, MTBF of 500,000 hours and operating temperature range from -20 to +50°C.
