Powering high power circuits controlled by a CAN Network, the Cube modules have been released by ERNI Electronics. The modules are suitable for use in harsh environments with power distribution systems that require the ability to control relays and monitor fuses and relays.

Using industry standard fuses, relays and circuit breakers, the modules can be configured to provide various OEM circuit protection and switching functions. The status and control of each circuit is accessible through J1939 or CANopen messages. Due to their press-fit technology, the modules are suitable for demanding vehicle applications in commercial, agriculture and construction vehicles, as well as CAVs. Rated up to 300A, the Cube modules are manufactured as hardened and weather tight systems.

The modules, which operate from 9-32V, integrate two main inputs rated up to 150A, 12 pre-fused relays outputs rated up to 25A and seven fused outputs rated up to 25A. Two pre-fused relays outputs rated up to 70A, four high-side outputs rated up to 3A and three low-side outputs rated up to 250mA. The modules also integrate the switching of Plus or Ground (GND) or both together, depending from the input.

Specified for the temperature range of -40 to +85°C (-40 to +125°C on request), the modules are manufactured with robust features such as a heavy-duty housing. To meet various customer requirements, the Cube modules can be configured with up to 21 power outputs, CAN and LIN support and up to IP69 protection (standard IP20).

The modules are offered in three standard configurations: Basic, Experts and Experts Plus. On request each version can be customised to meet OEM wiring requirements. Available in a 195x195mm package, with a height of 78mm, the Cube modules are suitable for heavy truck, construction, agriculture, military, transit bus/coach, marine, recreational vehicle, and speciality vehicle applications.

ERNI Electronics will present the modules at IAA Nutzfahrzeuge 2014, which takes place from 25th September to 2nd October in Hannover. The company will be in Hall 11, Booth G14.
