SynQor’s latest set of mil-spec power factor correction modules for AC-DC power conversion in military, aerospace and commercial applications are available at Luso Electronics. Both the MPFC-U-390-QP and MPFC-115-270-QP deliver 350W of output power in an industry standard quarter-brick package (1.5" x 2.4" x 0.5") while achieving 95% efficiency at full load.

When used with a hold-up capacitor, SynQor's AC line filter and SynQor's high efficiency DC-DC converters, each of these PFC modules draws a nearly perfect sinusoidal current (with a Power Factor greater than 0.99) from a single phase AC input and provides a complete front-end system that is designed to comply with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 (with AC filter).

The new SynQor PFC modules provide high performance across a wide input-voltage range. The MPFC-U-390-QP accepts universal input voltage range of 85-264 Vrms with a 390VDC output.

The MPFC-115-270-QP operates from 85-180 Vrms with 270VDC output. Both operate across universal 47-63Hz and 360-800Hz input frequency ranges, draw an AC current with only 3% THD, have a power enable/disable feature and provide a 10VDC auxiliary bias supply.

Since they are independent of the DC-DC converter, these modules can incorporate a variety of operational, control, and protection features that benefit both the supply subsystem and overall product performance.

Presented in a fully encased and ruggedized package, each PFC module can operate with baseplate temperatures from -55°C to +100°C and are perfect for the harsh environments encountered in military and aerospace applications that also demand a low profile solution with extended temperature operation in a small space.
