Medical PC power supplies with equalisation and safety approvals

The newly introduced medical PC power supplies MHG2-5300G-B1 (300 Watt), MHG2-5400G-B1 (400 Watt) and MHG2-5500G-B1 (500 Watt) from Bicker Elektronik, Donauwoerth/Germany, provide the reliable ATX power supply of mainboards with +3.3, +5, +12, -12V and + 5Vsb.

Due to a minimum load of zero amps at all output voltages, the latest generation mainboards with special power saving modes can be supplied. For international use, the high-performance switching power supplies have an AC wide-range input and comply with the safety standards EN / UL / cUL 60601-1 (Edition 3.1) and CCC.

The well-engineered and energy-efficient circuit design of the new MHG2 series also complies with the 80PLUS GOLD specification. The high-quality and robust power supplies work in a wide temperature range from -20 to +70 °C.

The new MHG2 power supply series is equipped with a nickel-plated plug of type Stäubli S6/15 for the safe potential equalisation according to DIN 42801. With this, the supplied computer system can be kept at the same potential with other components if necessary.

The isolation between input and output is 3,000VAC and thus complies with the safety standard 2xMOPP (Means of Patient Protection). Certified to the strict medical standards EN / UL / cUL 60601-1 and CCC, the new MHG2 PC power supplies can be used almost worldwide in medical computer systems.

The AC wide-range input of 90 to 264 VAC (47 to 63Hz) with active power factor correction (PFC) enables the supply of a wide variety of AC grids.

The sophisticated and highly energy efficient switching power supply topology of the new MHG2 series meets the 80PLUS GOLD specification. The use of high quality components ensures maximum reliability and system availability in 24/7 continuous operation.

For example, Japanese brand capacitors of +105°C rating significantly increase the life of the power supply, even at high operating temperatures. Mechanically, the FR4 board material used has a significantly higher dimensional stability. The through-connection of the printed circuit board ensures long-lasting and stable solder joints.

The fan control has been further optimised in the new MHG2 series, so that the double-ball bearing and temperature-controlled brand fan is particularly quiet and therefore ideal for use in practice and treatment rooms. In addition, the medical PC power supply is equipped with a tacho signal monitoring, which ensures the correct operation of the fan at any time.

In addition to the three-year device warranty, Bicker Elektronik guarantees a long-term availability of at least five years.
