A series of 400W AC/DC power adapters, suitable for medical applications, have been released by TRUMPower. Featuring an IEC 320/C14 AC inlet, a power switch and a power-on indicator, the TMP400 series offers standard single output models of 18, 24, 28, 36 or 48VDC. Upon request, non-standard voltages can be accommodated.

The power adapters feature an 8-pin Molex mini-fit female connector with a latch, enabling a secure output connection. With 0.98 active power factor, the TMP400 series accepts a 90-264VAC universal input. The withstand voltage is 5600VDC from input to output, 2100VDC from input to ground, and 700VDC from output to ground. Featuring a temperature range of 0 to +60°C, the power adapters operate up to 5,000m in altitude. At full load, the MTBF is higher than 350,000 hours and 25°C per MIL-HDBK-217F. Output protections include short-circuit, over voltage, over current, and over temperature. The earth leakage current is 300µA maximum at 264VAC, 63Hz.

The TMP400 series is approved by UL, cUL and TUV to the 3rd edition EN 60601-1, IEC 60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2005 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1:08 medical standards. The series is also approved to the 2nd edition IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 ITE standards. EN60601-1-2 EMI standards in which the power adapters comply include EN55011/FCC/VCCI class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN61000-3-2, EN61000-4-2, EN61000-4-3, EN61000-4-5 and EN61000-4-11. Due to the TMP400 series' efficiency, which is higher than 85%, it also meets CEC and Energy Star efficiency level V requirements. Carrying CE marking, the series is RoHS compliant.
