A range of 40A Point of Load (POL) non-isolated DC/DC converters, the iAH series, has been announced by TDK Corporation. Measuring 10.2mm high with a 33x13.5mm footprint, the iAH demonstrates an increase in output current of 100% compared to TDK-Lambda’s similarly sized iAF series.
The iAH series is suited to a number of applications, including datacom, telecom, industrial, broadcast and test and measurement equipment.
The 96% efficient converters can be adjusted across a wide 0.7-5.5V output range and deliver up to 150W. An input range of 3-17V enables the iAH to operate from either a 5 or 12VDC bus voltage; thus reducing inventory costs by stocking one part number. A weight of 12g allows these surface mountable converters to be easily pick-and-placed using automated, high volume production equipment. As with all TDK-Lambda’s DOSA compatible footprint POLs, the iAH does not need externally mounted loop tuning components and has a transient response to load changes.
Standard features include a trim pin for output voltage adjustment, positive remote sense, remote on-off (positive or negative logic), input under-voltage, overcurrent and over-temperature protection. A Power Good (low on fail) signal provides indication that the output outside of the ±12% set point tolerance, due to input under-voltage, overload, over-temperature or loss of control conditions.
Safety certification includes IEC/EN 60950-1, UL/CSA 60950-1 with CE marking for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives.
