With a quiescent current rating of only 70µA, the AP7361 ultra-low dropout linear voltage regulator from Diodes Incorporated will help bring energy savings to a range of consumer electronic devices including LCD TVs, STBs and PCs. Providing a source of adjustable and fixed output voltages at an accuracy of +-1.0%, the regulator has a dropout voltage of just 150mV at 300mA and can deliver an output current up to 1A with 500mV dropout.
The AP7361's input voltage range is 2.2V to 6.0V and output voltage is fully adjustable between 1.0V and 5.0V and fixed output voltage options of 1.0V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V and 3.3V are also available. The regulator's high ripple rejection of 65dB ensures supply current ripple is minimized in the event of input voltage transients or dramatic changes in load, while its fast transient response characteristics enable improvements in overall system response times to be achieved.

To help increase system reliability, the AP7361 integrates a comprehensive range of self-protection features including over-current protection to guard against short-circuit, a current limiter to handle in-rush and a thermal shutdown circuit to protect against excessive heat build-up. This cost-effective regulator comes in the industrial standard DFN3030E-8 package.

The AP7361 ultra-low dropout regulator is priced from $0.19 each in 1000 piece quantities.
