PCIM Europe 2017: Vincotech has developed the flowIPM 1C intelligent power module for 1200V applications, and claims it reduces both cost and footprint in industrial applications.

Module-based power module company, Vincotech, announced an integrated intelligent power module (IPM) for 1200V applications. The flowIPM 1C CIB 1200V is an integrated module featuring input three phase rectifier, three phase inverter and brake chopper circuit with integrated gate drives.

The level of integration allows an easy motor drive assembly with fewer external components, making it suitable for use in space-constrained embedded drives systems. The current rating of this converter, inverter and brake  (CIB) chopper topology housed in an integrated power module is 14A at 80°C heatsink temperature with 15A IGBT4 components.

According to the company, the flowIPM 1C CIB 1200V module enables manufacturers to slash overall system's size, cost, and time to market. It also features three inverter gate drives with a complete bootstrap circuit for high-side power supply, as well as emitter shunts (30m‎Ω) to improve motion control.

The modules are supplied in a 12mm flow 1C housing. Versions with press-fit pins and with phase-change material are available on request.
