Low clamping voltage, high-surge transient voltage suppressors (TVS) from Alpha and Omega Semiconductor are designed for VBUS protection and can be used for USB Type-C power delivery (PD) in laptops and smartphones.

The AOZ8621UNI covers a reverse working voltage (VRWM) range from 5.0 to 22V, to meet the requirement of USB PD. VRWM can be selected according to the maximum operating voltage on the Type-C VBUS pin. The TVS series is housed in a DFN 2x2 package for small electronic devices’ footprints.

The low breakdown voltage, low clamping voltage and high-surge current contribute to reducing the ESD and EOS failure rates in products.

The AOZ8621UNI-05, AOZ8621UNI-07, AOZ8621UNI-12, AOZ8621UNI-15, AOZ8621UNI-18, AOZ8621UNI-20 and AOZ8621UNI-22 have a typical breakdown voltage of 7.0 to 25.5V, depending on the model.

The TVS is immediately available in production quantities with a lead time of 16 weeks.
