External power supplies are compliant with Efficiency Level VI

Ideal Power has announce the availability of a wide range of external power supplies which meet the requirements of Efficiency Level VI. This standard came into effect on February 10^th, 2016 and brought in in some significant revisions and definitions to power supply performance. The legislation is intended to reduce the energy consumed by external power adapters and in some cases the reductions could result in as little as 20% of the levels allowed in previous standards. OEM manufacturers now need to be aware of new performance thresholds, direct and indirect operation models and exemptions for all new product designs.

To meet the requirements of Level VI Efficiency Ideal Power has launched numerous new models to their comprehensive offering of external power supplies. This very extensive range offers output voltages from 3 to 30VDC with output power from to 6 to 300W. Power input connection options include internal IEC connector, 2 pin connector and universal interchangeable AC plug tops. Output options include fixed cable terminated with a jack plug, USB connector or interchangeable power connectors.

Typical applications for Ideal Power’s Level VI Efficiency compliant range of external power supplies includes, IT and consumer products, PoS, industrial, transport, security, defence and telecoms. All models are CE Marked and fully safety agency approved
