SL Power Electronics, recognised as an industry leader in power supply technology and the company behind the Ault and Condor brands, will make several key product introductions at this year’s electronica – Munich November 11 to 14. Altogether more than 20 new products will be announced including internal and external units as well as mid-span PoE (Power over Ethernet) power sources. Many of the new models will be made available in both medical and commercial variants.

New internal Condor products to be announced include the MINT product range, designed by the company to lead the market in size, performance, technology and value for money. Available for both medical and commercial applications, MINT power supplies will range in power from 22 to 400W.
The scale and scope of Ault’s external product range will be clearly showcased. New Ault products conform to relevant incoming energy conservation legislation including the recently introduced American EISA requirements. New products will range in power from 15 to 120W and possibly higher and will again be made available to suit medical and commercial applications. Most can be supplied in both desktop and wall plug formats, the latter with new versions of Ault’s popular interchangeable wall plug blades.

With new EISA regulations effective as of July 1 this year, OEMs need compliant power supplies that meet demanding energy-efficiency and conservation guidelines, says Nigel Davies, European Managing Director for SL Power Electronics.

“Our Ault brand has been part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program for more than three years. We have also been involved with the California Energy Commission (CEC) and other global agencies focused on environmental issues. In the US, EISA regulations and EPA’s Energy Star Level IV are the next phases in energy efficiency and we want our customers to know that our power solutions meet the highest standards. This legislation will probably affect anyone who supplies products requiring external commercial power supplies into the US and that is a large number of our customers here in Europe.” Davies concludes.

Power over Ethernet continues to gain acceptance within the marketplace as users better understand its benefits and the recent increases in power levels on standard products. On show will be mid-span units capable of up to 32W and transferring data at up to 1 gigabit.
More than 65% of power supplies sold by SL Power are non-standard. Variations range from
the simple addition of a customer’s logo to complete custom power supply design and manufacture. Product specialists will be available on the booth to discuss custom and standard power supply solutions.
