A series of ultra-wide input DC/DC converters, suitable for industrial or distributed power architecture applications, has been released by Semiconductor Circuits. The CP30B converters provide up to 30W of output power at output voltages of 1.8, 3.3, 5.0 and 12VDC. Alongside a wide input voltage range of 9-36VDC, the devices provide 2250VDC input-to-output isolation.

The converters feature fixed-frequency operation, over voltage, over current and over temperature protections, under voltage-lockout, remote sense and ±10% output voltage trim. The devices are offered with remote ON/OFF as standard, with positive or negative logic options available on request.

The CP30B converters feature a standard 1×2 pinout with dimensions of 24.38x24.38mm. Accommodating tight card spacing with minimal airflow blockage of downstream components, the devices have a maximum height of 8.9mm.

The 4:1 input converters, which are UL94 V-0 flammability rated, meet EN 60950 basic insulation requirements. Providing no load operation, 2x nominal input voltage transient and pre-biased load startup, the devices comply with all of the typical industry requirements.
