Battery charger and power analysis packed into one tool

A new 10-slot battery charger from VOLTCRAFT has been introduced by distributor Conrad Business Supplies. Added to the in-house designed range of power devices, power supplies and accessories is the Charge Manager 2024 which blends the role of battery charger and power analysis tool and features a graphical display to show the charging status of batteries and ensure their optimised use.

The charger is the latest device to be created by the Conrad Technologie Centrum (CTC), Conrad’s in-house team of specialist designers and engineers who seek to create robust and dependable products for new and existing customers. It will join over 1300 VOLTCRAFT products, including nearly 40 battery chargers, already stocked by Conrad.

The device is easy to set up and straightforward to operate. The Charge Manager 2024 comes with six different battery care and refresher routines for NiMH, NiCd and NiZn batteries, including: proven charge, top-up, discharge, cycle, activate, and maximise. All of these processes help increase battery life and efficiency.

A large backlit blue LCD shows all relevant parameters and battery diagnostic information as well as charging and discharging curves.

After completing charging and care routines the device automatically switches into power-save mode. However, the charger continues to monitor battery status, automatically going into trickle charge mode if necessary.

A built in USB port, and a free software download, allows the Charge Manager 2024 to operate and to transfer charging and battery data to a PC for analysis, print-outs and archiving. Alternatively, without PC connectivity all data can be written to a SD card.

The fanless CM2024 delivers up to 3 A per charging slot, offering in total a maximum power rating of 60 W. It can also make use of an optional 12V / DC cigarette lighter charger to permit in-car use.
