Components with elevated glow-wire ratings

When it comes to household appliances used in unattended operation, the provisions of standard IEC 60335-1 have placed higher requirements regarding Glow-Wire Ignition Temperature (GWIT). These more stringent requirements thus also apply to installed components such as power sockets, fuse holders and connectors. For this reason, all components carrying current must meet the requirements of glow-wire tests as specified in IEC 60695-2-12 and -13.

SCHURTER manufacturers a large number of products made of plastic materials with high glow-wire ratings. These are above all shock-safe fuse holders in the successful FPG series, which are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes as well as fuse blocks for assembly on circuit boards.
