Designed for applications where constant power is critical, such as security systems, the PQE series of AC/DC battery-backed power supplies has been introduced by Powersolve. The PQE series accepts a universal AC input and provides one to three DC outputs of 75, 100 or 155W with battery charger. They can be used with 12 and 24V battery systems.

Offering output voltages of 13.8 or 27.6VDC and also available with an auxiliary +5V 3A output, the PQE series operates up to temperatures of +70°C with derating. Cooling is performed by integral fan or by an optional external fan mounted on top of the enclosure.

The PQE series power supplies incorporate a number of features designed to ensure that constant power is available in the event of mains failure. These include 'auto switch' when power off, battery low protection, battery polarity protection, brown-out (AC input low) protection and an integral constant current limiting circuit.

Other significant features include alarm signals for AC OK and battery low, as well as short circuit, overload and overvoltage protection. The PQE series meet all relevant safety and EMI/EMS standards.
