AC/DC power supplies use base plate cooling for decentralised power

Modules that can be installed as a decentralised power supply for industrial applications have been announced by MTM Power.

The 150W PCMAT150 S24 AC/DC modules have base plate cooling (BPC) technology.

It has wide AC/DC (85 to 264V AC) and DC/DC (100 to 300V DC) input ranges, and a 24V DC output voltage is generated. The contact-cooled devices are ruggedly designed, says the company, with a power good signal and an active power factor correction (PFC). There is also efficiency of 92.5%, an operating temperature of -40 to +70°C, remote control and 150% power boost.

The design of the isolation co-ordination according to overvoltage category OV 3 enables the use in applications with high transients as, for example, energy technology, explains the company.

The patented vacuum encapsulated power supplies offer reliable protection against condensation, conductive dust and other environmental conditions. They are connected via industrial connectors, enabling it to be used as a plug-and-play supply in sensitive electronic sub-systems. The company believes that the rugged design in BPC technology makes it possible to reduce the power loss via heat dissipation while simultaneously increasing the life of the devices.

The company intends to build on the power supply for further power ranges and output voltages to expand the portfolio in due course.
