In response to the high wattage requirement of reliable medical power supplies MEAN WELL have announced the MSP-600 series of 600W AC/DC medical enclosed type power supplies. With low leakage current of less than 300μA at 264V ac the power supplies are suited for non-patient contact medical applications.

With no load power consumption of less than 0.8W, up to 89% efficiency and built-in active PFC function of greater than 0.94, the MSP-600 series devices are suitable for energy efficient medical equipment or electric devices, fulfilling the energy-saving requirements for end systems. Suitable applications include medical equipments requiring low leakage current, chemical or biological detection equipments, analysis facilities, and any systems requiring low no load power consumption.

Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +50°C, the built-in DC fan can force air cool up to +70°C with suitable derating. The medical power supplies feature a universal AC input of 85-264V and voltage output options of 3.3-48V. Other standard functions include protections for short circuit, overload, over voltage, and over temperature, 300VAC input surge immunity for 5 seconds, remote ON/OFF control, remote sense, fan ON/OFF control, and DC OK signal output.

In order to meet the requirement of higher wattage applications, the 24, 36 and 48V output models of the MSP-600 series are equipped with parallel function which can operate up to four models in parallel. Measuring 218x105x63.5mm, the medical power supplies comply with global medical certificates per UL/ CUL/ CB/ CE and are supplied with a five year warranty.
