ROHM Introduces New Step-down Switching Regulators with Built-in Power MOSFET
ROHM Semiconductor has announced new step-down switching regulators with a built-in 800mΩ Power MOSFET. The BD9G101G series provides 0.5A DC output with excellent line and load regulation for smart power management in a small SOT23 (SSOP6) package. The operating frequency is fixed at 1.5MHz, allowing the use of a small inductor and a ceramic capacitor in order to reduce space requirements. All phase compensation components are integrated as ...
Calling Constant Current
In the vast world of power supply applications, we can identify two main categories for regulating the power applied to the load. The first being ‘constant voltage’, where the control loop maintains a constant voltage to varying load current demands and the second, ‘constant current’ where the current is maintained constant to vary the voltage applied to the load. By Giacomo Mazzullo, Business Development Manager for TDK-Lambda.
Linear unveils LTM4637 DC/DC step-down µModule regulator
Linear have launched the LTM4637, a 20A DC/DC step-down µModule (micromodule) regulator with onboard precision differential remote sense amplifier. This enables automatic correction of voltage errors caused by droop across PCB traces, which is valuable for powering loads such as FPGAs requiring high currents at low voltages.
Fairchild Semiconductor’s Automotive 3-Phase Variable Speed Inverter Power Module Enables Higher Torque Systems, Saves Fuel, Lowers CO2 Emissions
Automotive engineers are constantly looking for ways to reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions, while at the same time lowering overall system costs. To help designers meet these challenges, Fairchild Semiconductor developed the FTC03V455A1 a 3-Phase, Variable Speed Drive Automotive Power Module.
Power Conversion Gets Digital
More and more manufacturers are adopting digital control wrapped up in an analogue process, in an effort to provide greater accuracy without increasing the cost of power conversion. Electronic Specifier Design magazine Editor Philip Ling discovers more in this article.
Infineon Adds Compact Class to EiceDRIVER Family
Next week at the PCIM 2013 trade show for power electronics, Infineon Technologies will present the new 2EDL EiceDRIVER Compact half-bridge gate driver, which is intended for applications with a blocking voltage of 600 Volts.
Infineon Introduces CoolMOS C7
Infineon Technologies expands its High Voltage portfolio with CoolMOS C7, introducing a new 650V Superjunction MOSFET technology. The new C7 product family provides Best-in-Class R DS(on) for all standard packages and - thanks to its low switching losses - efficiency improvements over the full load range.
Dual n-& p-channel MOSFETS for battery apps
Both products feature low on-resistance, 16mΩ for the AP9922GEO-HF-3 and 25mΩ for the AP9923GEO-HF-3, and both devices are capable of operating with gate drive down to 1.8V. RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, the devices are available in the small, thin TSSOP-8 package.
