Off-line PWM controllers incorporate sense MOSFET
Integrating a sense MOSFET along with a current mode PWM controller IC, the STR4A100 series has been introduced by Allegro MicroSystems. The off-line PWM controllers are suited for applications including audio visual, set top boxes, white goods and battery chargers within the appliance, office automation, consumer and industrial markets.
Power modules offer 2.75mm profile with 5V-22V inputs
Claiming to offer the industry’s highest power density and lowest profile, the XRP9710 and XRP9711 power modules have been introduced by Exar. The multi-output, synchronous step-down, programmable power devices boast a 2.75mm profile with 5V-22V inputs.
MOSFET fulfills needs of wireless charging circuits
Designed for power management applications in mobile devices, the SSM6N58NU low-resistance dual N-channel MOSFET meets the needs of high current as well as wireless charging circuits used in smartphones, tablets and laptops. Toshiba Electronics Europe's latest MOSFET ensures efficiency and switching speeds through a design that minimizes ON resistance (RDS(ON)) and input capacitance (CISS).
Power Block achieves high efficiency at lower cost
Sitting between a PoL design and that of a complete non-isolated buck converter module, the OKLP-X/35-W12-C is the latest addition to Murata's OKLP range of “Power Block” products. The 35A Power Block follows the recently released 25A version, and is essentially a non-isolated buck converter without a PWM controller.
µModule regulator powers FPGAs, ASICs and MPUs
Configurable as a single (16A), dual (12A, 4A or 8A, 8A), triple (8A, 4A, 4A) or quad (4A each) output regulator, the LTM4644 step-down µModule regulator has been announced by Linear Technology. With this flexibility, system designers can use one compact µModule regulator to meet the voltage and load current requirements of FPGAs, ASICs and microprocessors.
650V buck switches reduce design time and complexity
Offering burst-mode operation with operating current of just 250µA, the FSL306 and FSL336 650V AC buck switches reduce standby mode power consumption for increased energy efficiency. The power switches from Fairchild are suitable for home appliance, industrial motor and smart meter applications.
1,000A contactor for high current DC switching
Expanding their line-up of advanced switching solutions, GIGAVAC has introduced the GX110 SPST-NO (Single Pole Single Throw – Normally Open) contactor. Rated for continuous duty up to 1,000A, the contactor is suited for applications where both high voltages and high currents need to be controlled with the certainty of galvanic isolation.
Dual photovoltaic MOSFET delivers open circuit voltage of 12.2V
Consisting of an LED that is optically coupled to a monolithic PV array, the FDA217 is the latest dual photovoltaic MOSFET driver from IXYS. Each array can generate an open circuit voltage of 12.2V and short circuit current of 9.1uA with a forward LED current of 10mA.
Lower cost variants of popular 1W DC/DC converters
Lower cost versions of the most popular converters in RECOM's industrial products portfolio, the company has announced seven cost-effective DC/DC converters designated the E-series. Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C, the 1W converters are suitable for isolation of interfaces or bus systems.
MOSFET increases efficiency in mobile devices
Designed to increase efficiency in mobile computing devices, the -20V Siliconix Si7157DP signals an expansion of Vishay's TrenchFET p-channel Gen III power MOSFET portfolio. Offering on-resistance of 0.0016Ω and 0.0020Ω at -10 V and -4.5 V ratings, respectively, the MOSFET is optimized for load and battery switches in power management applications for notebook computers.
