UK power conversion specialist PowerPax has recently extended its range of 3W AC/DC module power supplies with the addition of the Ultra-wide input LS03-16BxxSS and LD03-16Bxx series products from power conversion manufacturer Mornsun. This range features an ultra-wide input range of 90 – 528V AC (47-63Hz) and can accept a DC input of 100 – 745V DC on the same terminals.

The AC input range makes this product suitable for two wire connection to three phase four wire systems.

The LS03-16BxxSS range features an input to output isolation of 4000V AC minimum and the LD03-16BxxSS series has an input to output isolation of 3000V AC minimum.

Both ranges have an efficiency of up to 76% with maximum standby power consumption of 0.5W.

These modules offer single DC outputs of 3.3V, 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 24V with a typical output voltage accuracy of ± 5%, line regulation of ± 1.5% typical and load regulation of typically ± 2.5% (10% - 100% Load).

Outputs have a low level of ripple & noise 180mV P – P Max (20Mhz Bandwidth) and all outputs feature short circuit protection (hiccup mode with continuous self-recovery) and over-current protection (self-recovery).

Both the LS03-16BxxSS and LD03-16BxxSS product ranges are Class II and meet UL60950 and EN60950 standards and have excellent EMC characteristics.

These converters have an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +85℃ and are designed for free air convection cooling.

They are engineered for applications where reliability is key and they have an MTBF ≥ 300K Hr’s (MIL-HDBK-217F @ 25°C) and a three year warranty.

These units offer two different compact package styles with high power density. The LS03-16BxxS is provided in a DIP package with dimensions of 50.80 x 25.40 x 15.16mm and the LD03-16BxxS is a SIP package with dimensions of 44.50 x 13.00 x 24.00mm.

The converters are particularly suited to applications including, but not limited to, three-phase electricity metering, industrial control and instrumentation, double power switch control and fire protection systems.
