Suitable for demanding applications in medical electronics, HiTek Power has announced the ME1200 power supply. This 1200W power supply has very compact external dimensions and can be optionally delivered with a digital control system (I2C, RS232C or RS485).

With the ME1200 series, the output voltage and output current can be set anywhere in the 0-105% range, and a “Remote ON/OFF” or “Remote Sense” is also available. If the power of one ME1200 is insufficient, a much higher performance can be achieved through parallel connection in “current sharing” mode. This combination makes the device suitable for wide range of applications where typical, simple switching power supplies with less than 500W are inadequate.

Designed for export-oriented companies, a wide input voltage range (90-264V AC, 127-370V DC), active PFC, as well as protective features such as “overload”, “over-voltage”, and “over-temperature” are available. These protective functions have been designed to switch on a fan cooling system.

Because this is a new medical power supply, the necessary approvals have been obtained (including 3rd-Edition ones) and the leakage currents of 300µA (to earth at 264V AC) and 100µA (for patients at 264V AC) offer good conditions.

The device (dimensions: L = 261mm, W = 127mm & H = 63.5mm) is available for nominal DC output voltages of 12, 15, 24, 30, 36, 48 and 60V. Sample devices can be obtained at short notice from HiTek Power.
