AWS Cemgraft, a company within the AWS Group, has announced its Fast Track prototyping service can turn around prototype or urgent low volume requests in five to ten days as standard, and when really urgent, the company has managed to deliver in 24 hours.
At its impressive Newbury facilities, AWS Cemgraft has set up a dedicated team of seven people to handle Fast Track projects that includes not only assembly staff that only handle Fast Track business, but also a separate project work flow team, so there is no disruption of scheduled production orders. Once a project has been assigned, an operator takes full responsibility for that job, seeing it through all stages of assembly.

Comments Operations Director, Jamie Maughan: “In other EMS companies urgent requirements are fitted in by the production manager around the regular work flow. This can cause great scheduling difficulties, and the quality of work can suffer. At Cemgraft, Fast Track orders are processed by a dedicated team. Any work that has to be done on our highly efficient and flexible Juki surface mount automated production lines will be done in the early morning or in the evening outside of our regular production shifts. Then all other components will be hand assembled in a special section of the factory.”

He concludes: “Our Fast Track service is one area which really differentiates Cemgraft from the competition. We have numerous testimonials which complement the Fast Track team for their efforts in ensuring that tight deadlines are met while maintaining a very high standard of quality.”
